Social Justice

In getting to know one another at this church, it soon becomes apparent that many friends and members are involved in individual projects of service to others as a reflection of their personal values. The Social Justice Council provides opportunities for congregants to discuss and work together on social issues of mutual interest and raises awareness of these issues with the congregation and the community.

Social Justice Council

The council coordinates social justice activities driven by several task groups. Membership includes chairs or other representatives of the task groups organized to address social justice issues, along with members at large. Social Justice Council activities are of five main types: education; service/charity; witness (speaking out on issues); advocacy (seeking change through legislation, for example); and community organizing. All task groups endeavor to address most if not all of these types of actions. All task groups are open to all members of the church. We encourage you to consider becoming involved!
