Caring Groups
Caring CraftersMany community organizations, including our own church, welcome handmade donations such as friendship shawls, lap quilts, chemo caps and infant blankets. Members of this group meet on a regular basis to knit, crochet, quilt, weave, and make cards for people facing challenges, crisis or grief as well as joy and celebrations. Learn a new skill, teach a known skill, or simply craft and chat. Please check the Venture or Fellowship e-mail for days and times of meetings. more... Support for Caregivers GroupCaring for a loved one, a spouse, parent, child, grandparent, sibling, or friend is a rewarding but often difficult task. Caregiving brings with it many and often conflicting feelings. You may feel confused, angry, afraid, frustrated, guilty, exhausted, embarrassed, overwhelmed, or lonely. Discussing these feelings with others might help alleviate the stress associated with the caregiving role. Our church offers a caregiver support group that brings together those supporting and caring for a loved one who lives near or far. Caregivers gather to share concerns, questions and answers, and to laugh, cope, and hope. This is a place for you to receive support for yourself. You don't need to go it alone. Staying in touch and connecting with others is important. Please join us. Widows Dinner GroupSometimes weekends can seem too long and eating alone on Friday and Saturday can be lonely. If you are interested in joining other widows in a Dinner Group to share time, conversation, dinner and just visiting, please check the Venture or the Fellowship e-mail for days and times. Starting a new Support GroupIn dealing with life's issues, some people find it comforting to be with others in a similar situation. A support group is a way to bring those people together and provide an informational, supportive, and safe place to express feelings and reduce stress. The Pastoral Care/Membership Coordinator is always willing to help start up a new group. Once there are three interested people, we begin a new group. |
